A Troublesome Visitor

A TROUBLESOME VISITOR

Yes! Siera my breath-takingly beautiful cousin was finally ungrounded from our last Houdini act and was coming to stay with me over the mid-term break. The only downfall was that Siera had to bring Brianna, the twelve year old beauty queen from Hell's, deepest, darkest slime-pit, with her. And I know your probably thinking " What harm could a twelve year old possibly do?" Well with three hundred dollar Gucci flip-flops and nine pageant crowns under her exquisitely intricate bronze coloured Chanel belt she may seem sugar sweet but behind closed doors it's a whole different story...

"Siera. Hey, over here!" I shouted hoarsly and excitedly as I legged it over the road while narrowly missing an oncoming lorry.

"Hey hun. I haven't seen you in ages! How are you?" She yelled back in her extremely high pitched voice.

I just noticed Brianna scowling darkly at a pretty brunette little eight year old with a pink dress up hand-bag. Whoa! If Brianna can get jealous over that then I think it's better if I just stay away from her.

As we were driving home in my mum's beat up old Merc you could already see the strain of trying to strike up a decent conversation with the "Beauty Queen" on my mum's poor face.

"So...? Where do you wanna go tonight Siera?"I asked as part question and part conversation starter.

"Uh-uh! You two aren't putting one foot outside that apartment, not after last time. You can spend plenty of time reading a few of Jane Austen's classics!" My mum half yelled half sniggered this statement but I was completely dumb-founded

"What the Hell do you mean we're not allowed out? It's mid-term of course were going out! We have rights!" I screamed while pounding my mum's headrest with my stilleto clad size six feet.

"Sorry sweetie, your a teenager and since you don't have any responsibilities you don't have any rights!" My mum replied with a super cool demeanour.

"Oh that's okay I'm sure we'll have loads of fun inside, Jane Austen is fab!" Siera gushed.

She was obviously suffering from jet-lag and tiredness from her bus trip, who in their right mind would honestly even attempt to read Jane Austen. Ugh! That's all I can say. All this time Brianna had been glowering menacingly at everything that passed the cars window. That girl had serious problems.

Finally we got home. Siera and I pegged it up the stairs after we had raided the refrigerater in a vein attempt at ditching Brianna but no, the Queen of Sheba was already sat in my baby-pink pod chair wrinkling her perfect little nose at the smell of over-priced Chinese food that was wafting in through my open window.

"That smell is absolutely outrageous! How on Earth do you expect me to sleep in here? And this bed, I could swear that's the same duvet cover as the last time I was here." Brianna ranted while she moved in a pixie-like fashion toward my bockety double bed.

"Eh... Bye bye Brianna. Lovely talking but you, my darling little cousin, are staying on the sofa-bed in Ryan's room since he's away at college." I replied sarcastically hoping that she got the fact that I felt a LOT of resentment towards her.

Surprisingly she just glided out of the room with her nose in the air. Hmmm...That was easy. Too easy. Siera and I decided that since we weren't allowed out we should use the fire escape and go get our noses pierced. A rebellion was desperately needed and this was the almost-perfect idea. I was just about to voice an idea on how to get past Mum when Brianna falls through my door and rolls to a stop at my feet.

"Spill! What did you hear?" I screeched as I pounced on Brianna and pinned her to the ground.

"Just enough to tell Aunty Maria but I'm willing to negotiate if you bring me along and buy me a low-fat croissant and skinny latté." She said in a low, sly voice while glaring a me through narrowed eyes.

"Fine but if you so much as dream about this you will be shot with my Dad's 38 callibre gun. Got it?" I threatened.

"Sure but what good is a dead man's gun without bullets? Really your Dad was pretty useless when he was alive wasn't he? He couldn't even remember your birthday some years because he was so drunk! So... Do we have deal?" Brianna taunted.

That was the bitchiest thing she could have done. Ever.

"Get out Brianna!" I said in a furious voice.

I was seething. Nothing Siera said could calm me down.

"That's it. I've had enough. I'm sick and tired of that little witch, everytime you visit she reminds of him. Sorry Siera but I am getting rid of Brianna this week with or without your help!" I whispered in a voice that made me sound dangerous.

"I'm so sorry Nat. I'm in and I'll do whatever it takes to get rid of her." Siera promised but her eyes looked wary as if she didn't really mean it.

That night we snuck past my mum's room into Ryan's room where Brianna was snoring like a tabby-cat and muttering something about annihilation and decapitation. I shuddered. "Evil" was my only thought as I held open an over-sized brown canvas sack that would soon conceal Brianna. Hehe. Quick as lightning Siera flipped the now gagged Brianna into my sack and helped me tie it up. Brianna squirmed this way and that but to no avail and her screams were muffled by the polyester rag in her mouth. It was only two A.M. so my mum would be asleep for the next eleven hours at least. Having Brianna had already messed her up real bad. We used the fire escape as planned and spent the next hour sneaking in and out alleyways to reach the nearest dumping ground. I was amazed no one saw us. Just as I was loading up my Dad's gun four squad cars turned up and Siera was dragging Brianna out of the sack and running towards them. I didn't understand, how did they know? Why was Siera helping Brianna escape? She promised to help me but had somehow ratted me out. The game was up. It was all over.

So here I, Natalie Danielle Blake aged sixteen, sit in a warm, comfortable cell in a mental institution for under eighteens. I was ordered to spend eighteen months here because on the fifteenth of February 2008 I tried to murder my twelve year old cousin Brianna Chantelle Smith.
